I wanted to produce this book in order to answer my numerous western friends about who the Arabs really are, the sacrifices they made to improve conditions for their people and to contribute to the welfare of the entire world.
When talking about them, we tend to think of their wealth, their golden taps, their skyscrapers, their artificial islands, but we never think of how they got there, of how farsighted their leaders were.
This book, which is a summary of “FROM RAGS TO RICHES A STORY OF ABU DHABI” by Mohammed Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, provides an insight into the incredible ability of this people and their many sacrifices.
Some of our politicians could certainly follow their example. Ever since my first journey there in 1984 the United Arab Emirates have always made a strong impression on me, so I have added some pictures regarding events and my own experiences.
The common thread that runs through all religions and cultures of nations is love, love and respect for other people, understanding and communication as solutions to all problems. Unfortunately people do not always
remember this. Egoism, money and highhandedness often prevail and the essential truth of life is forgotten: “we all die in the end”.
